Good For You!
Brussel sprouts may have a bit of a bad reputation, but these little veggies are actually packed with nutrients and health benefits. In this blog post, we’ll be taking a humorous look at the benefits of brussel sprouts.
Benefit #1: They’ll make you fart like a champion.
Okay, let’s be real here. We all know that brussel sprouts have a bit of a gas-inducing reputation. But you know what? That’s actually a good thing! Farting is a natural bodily function, and it can actually help relieve bloating and discomfort. So, if you want to let one rip like a pro, load up on some brussel sprouts.
Benefit #2: They’ll make you feel like a giant.
Have you ever felt small and insignificant? Well, fear not, my friend. Brussel sprouts can help you feel like a giant! These little guys may be small, but they’re packed with nutrients that can help you grow big and strong. So, if you want to tower over your friends and family, chow down on some brussel sprouts.
Benefit #3: They’ll give you a green thumb.
If you’ve always wanted to be a master gardener but can’t seem to keep a plant alive, brussel sprouts are here to help. These veggies are actually part of the cabbage family, which means they’re related to other garden favorites like broccoli and kale. By growing your own brussel sprouts, you’ll not only have a steady supply of tasty veggies, but you’ll also get some gardening practice under your belt.
Benefit #4: They’ll give you superpowers.
Okay, maybe not actual superpowers, but Brussel sprouts are pretty darn close. These little veggies are packed with vitamin C, which can help boost your immune system and keep you healthy. Plus, they’re also a good source of fibre, which can help regulate your digestion and keep your gut healthy.
Preparation
Start by preparing your Cajun seasoning. You will need:
- 1 tbsp sea salt grounded
- 1 tbsp sweet smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp ground white pepper
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried basil
Put everything in a class jar (a jam jar works well!) seal with the lid and give it a good shake. This will make around 6 tablespoons. I often make a big batch so I always have plenty on hand for fajitas and chilli recipes.

In a large bowl, add 1/2 cup cooked rice, 1/2 tsp Cajun seasoning, the cooked sprouts, pepper, sweet potato and chickpeas, and give everything a good mix.
